Nick Blake / Global Interview
ProductGlobal Interview is a web app used by Asylum Officers while they conduct interviews that determine if an applicant qualifies for legal protection in the U.S.
ProblemOfficers juggled multiple tools during asylum interviews. This slowed decision-making, increased admin burden, and led to rework, contributing to a growing case backlog.
OpportunityBy consolidating research and documentation into a single tool, Global Interview could better support Asylum Officers during interviews.
Outcomes We evolved Global from a data collection tool into an integrated workflow platform by embedding country context directly into the interview flow. These features helped reduce the duration of officer-applicant interviews from 2 hours to 1.5 hours, reduced the case backlog by 33%, and drove a 14% increase in daily adoption.

Role As a Product Designer, I shaped the product roadmap through stakeholder and user interviews. I designed and tested visual explorations with users and collaborated with engineers to leverage an existing API while evolving our design system.
